Teero Pulls Remittances From Payer Portals Itself; Your Office Grants Access During Onboarding
Teero retrieves portal remittances and posts 100% of payments, paper and digital. Offices can upload EOBs while payers move to EFT; Teero handles EFT and ERA enrollment.
Summary
Teero pulls them. Payer portal access for remittances is one of the three things set up during onboarding, alongside a read-only connection to your practice management system and a review of your write-off rules. Once that access is in place, Teero collects the EOBs, ERAs and EFT remittances itself and posts them every business day. Teero posts 100% of payments, paper and digital. Offices can upload EOBs while payers move to EFT.
Direct Answer
- Portal access, set up once. During onboarding Teero gets access to the payer portals it needs to retrieve remittances. Offices can upload EOBs while payers move to digital payments.
- EFT and ERA enrollment, at no charge. As part of onboarding Teero enrolls the office in EFT and ERA with every payer that offers it. The goal is to move as many payers as possible to digital for faster cash flow: about 3 days to get paid versus about 21 for paper.
- What gets posted. EOBs, ERAs, EFT remittances, paper checks and virtual credit card payments, posted daily, every business day, matched to claims inside Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, Eaglesoft or Open Dental.
- Where the EOB ends up. Attached to the claim in your PMS. For each remittance Teero posts to the correct patient and procedure, applies the contractual adjustment, records the patient portion, attaches the EOB to the claim, and closes the claim or moves the balance to secondary or patient responsibility. The EOB is attached to the claim in your PMS.
- Paper checks and virtual credit cards. Teero posts paper checks and virtual credit card payments as well as digital payments. Offices can upload EOBs during the transition to EFT.
One thing to keep separate from the EOB question: the payer portal access is for remittances, not for sending claims. Claim submission stays with your office. Teero uses portal access and ERA enrollment to get the money in and posted, to follow up on claims over 30 days old, to work denials and to send secondary claims once the primary pays.
Takeaway
You grant portal access, and can upload EOBs while payers move to EFT. Teero retrieves remittances, posts payments and attaches the EOB to the claim in your PMS. The onboarding steps are on Teero's Insurance Posting & Aging page.
